A Little Positivity

I feel like the last few posts, even months apart, have been a bit too negative. When I zoom out, and look at the bigger picture, I have to get positive again.
This year has been full of blessings. Even amidst the chaos and confusion and lockdowns and loss of freedom.
Our family has changed and grown in amazing ways.
My husband was able to move from a part-time position with UPS to a full-time position, which has changed our financial landscape.
Because of the lockdowns, I was able to stay home with my youngest for almost her entire first year of life, while still working and bringing in significant income.
Our oldest daughter has made huge strides in her attitude and behavior because of my ability to spend more time at home. She has also been able to grow and learn at a school that has been open full-time since August.
Our youngest has been able to experience a lot more time with mom and dad than our oldest did at her age, while also having the opportunity to spend time with friends at her daycare.
These are all no small feats. These are big deals that need to be acknowledged.
Another huge positive that has made a huge impact on our family is my jump into Christian Apologetics. Not only have I grown deeper in my relationship with Christ in this year, spending quality time with God and his Word daily, I have discovered Christian Apologetics and the importance of understanding them as I raise kids in a world that is on fire.
I'm no expert, but I am hoping to learn more, understand more, and tell more as I explore more.
But this has also changed the way I am approaching our family, and discipline, and shepherding.
Which means our entire household culture has changed in amazing and positive ways. There is more peace in our house than before. There is more calm in our house than before. And undoubtedly, it is because we have accepted God's ever-present presence into our hearts and our home more.
So yes, this year has been hard. But this year has also been full of blessings that can't be ignored.
Here's to year 2 of the unknown. Let it be as filled with blessings as year 1 was!
