My week has been beautiful. It’s interesting how showing thankfulness and gratitude breeds more thankfulness and gratitude. This week brought unique challenges, but despite them, I see so many blessings.
We planned on accomplishing lessons this week, and while we only got 2 days in, the other days were filled with home ec, family bonding, and natural learning opportunities.
I was able to rock my baby for over an hour while she struggled to sleep, then hold her on my back later for another hour so she could get the sleep she needed.
While my sleep was disrupted, my soul felt filled and sustained.
My girls were extra helpful this week, and offered a lot of help when they saw me struggling.
Shawn was able to get extra hours with holiday pay which alleviates some of that normal holiday stress.
We had a good Thanksgiving holiday with Shawn’s step-mom and her aunt. There was a bittersweet mood to it as Auntie is declining, but it was still a good visit.
I got so much time in the kitchen to bake, something I love to do but don’t do enough.
I get to be excited tonight for tomorrow’s festivities with my side of the family, even if a number of us will be missing. Still, excited to see those who will make it.
Thankful hearts are more thankful. I can’t wait to reflect on next week. 😘
