Motherhood, first

I had every intention of writing something last night. I even had a few ideas about what exactly I wanted to type about.

But then motherhood happened. My oldest needed some time with mom and dad and we needed to make some things clear to her. We all needed to sit down and talk some things out, lay it all out on the table, and move past where we were into something better.

Motherhood will always come first because these tiny humans will someday become adults who need to be able to function in society. And too many parents have pushed their kids aside and let them become adults who can't handle "adulting."

Life is hard, we all experience it. But it doesn't need to be impossible.

Learning as a child when to speak up and say, "Hey, I need this," and then getting it is so vitally important.

I'm proud of her for saying, "I need time to talk to you."

I'm proud of her for listening when I responded to some of her concerns and complaints.

I'm hopeful for a better rest of the week now that we've cleared some of these things up.

Life is hard enough; no need for it to be impossible for an 8 year old.
