The world is breaking my heart right now.

I haven’t been writing because I don’t even know what to say.

Where do I even start? This year has not been a good year for humanity. We have not behaved well. We have struggled with basic kindness.

But this isn't new. This has been happening for years. The world has slowly been in a pot of water, where the burner is slowly being turned up so we don’t notice.

Why haven’t we noticed? Hasn’t it been obvious?

Maybe for some. Maybe for those actively affected.

But for the majority of us? We haven’t seen it.

My eyes are opened now. Are yours?

Right now, I am grateful for the comfort I can find in Christ Jesus. He is the light that shines into the darkness that I see.

I don’t have any solution that everyone will hear. All I know is that if I continue to focus on my relationship with Christ, and continue to reflect his character in my own life, that I will make a small dent in the darkness of this world.

But I also know that any dent is progress and is good.

Until others are open to seeing the light of Christ in the world, things will not change.

That is what I pray for today. I pray for the light of Christ to be spoken and shared to those who only see the darkness. I pray for the peace of God to be placed upon our world. I pray for eyes to be opened and hearts to be willing to hear.
